The Mehrhölzchen is divided into many distinctive smaller parcels: Hendlberg, Jungfer, Schönhell, the Hendlberg being the steepest of them all. First mentioned in 1418, the name originally comes from the word “deer”. Today delicious Riesling grapes grow on stony slate soils. Totally different in character, these wines are defined by their minerality and distinctive acidity.
